Our Story

We make the thing on the shelf that makes people stop talking.

GrimNook started from a simple observation: horror fans and readers are the same people more often than anyone gives them credit for. The shelf full of King paperbacks. The dark academia corner. The person who reads three thrillers a month and has nowhere to put a personality.

Most shelf decor is either sterile or juvenile. Candles, fake plants, plastic figures that look like they came free with something. Nothing that actually earns the space next to books you care about.

So we make lights that hang between them.

How we build

Every piece is cast, hand-painted and finished in limited production runs. The bracket is real matte-black wrought iron, not painted plastic, and it's designed to wedge between books like a bookend so you never have to put a hole in your furniture.

The glow is warm amber, not the harsh blue-white LED look. It's meant to be something you can read beside, not something that fights the room.

Limited by design

We don't hold warehouse stock. Runs are produced to order, which is why lead times are longer than you'd get from a warehouse full of the same thing — and why the finish quality holds up.

New horror icons get added over time. If you want to know when a run opens, get on the list.

Talk to us

There's a real person on the other end of the contact form. Questions, custom requests, or just to tell us which character should be next — we read all of it.
